BOILING TO THE BRIM: Employee Crawfish Boil is an Annual Tradition

BOILING TO THE BRIM: Employee Crawfish Boil is an Annual Tradition It was a beautiful day for this year’s annual crawfish and shrimp boil, at RG Miller | DCCMs new location.  Employees, along with their guests, enjoyed an afternoon outdoors and experienced the true southern delicacy of “mudbugs.”  This event has become a favorite company tradition for RG Miller staff, who excitedly anticipate its return each year!   Here are some “Fun Facts” about crawfish you might not know:  Native Americans were the first to eat crawfish long before the Europeans arrived. There are more than 500 species of crawfish found throughout the world, and more than 350 of those live in the United States; however, of these only (2) species are harvested and eaten. Crawfish have eight pairs of legs, (4) are used for walking forward, and four are used for swimming backward. Crawfish reach adult size in about 4 years but can live up to 30 years in the wild. Crawfish have been on Earth for a very long time. In fact, the earliest found crawfish fossil is 30 million years old, and they have found crawfish burrows dating back 100 million years in Australia. Speaking of Australia, while most crawfish in the U.S. grow to 3-4 inches, there are species Down Under that grow to 15.5 inches and weigh more than 8 pounds – and no, they are not lobsters!  additional articles May 9, 2025 BOILING TO THE BRIM: Employee Crawfish Boil is an Annual Tradition April 30, 2025 Paving the Way for Future Engineers April 30, 2025 Jerry Hardy joins RG Miller | DCCM April 15, 2025 Nicolas Prada Joins RG Miller | DCCM April 15, 2025 Bhavika Balani Earns PE Designation Linkedin Envelope
