Land & Site Development

FMC Technologies

FMC Technologies Houston,TX RG Miller | DCCM was retained by FMC Technologies to design multiple additions to their Houston facility. The additions ranged from a modular office area to a new campus building and associated laydown yards. These projects include the design of detention basins, paving, grading and utilities to serve each site. Master planning was an important part of the design process so that each new phase meshed with the next.

Old Dominion

Old Dominion Houston,TX The Old Dominion Truck terminal is located on Aldine Bender road and is situated on 23.2 Acres of land. The project required design of a detention/mitigation pond as well as onsite storm, water, and sanitary sewer. RG Miller | DCCM worked with the MUD District Engineer on the annexation of the site into the district. Water and sanitary were served from a well and spray field respectively. When the site was annexed the entire project was converted over to the MUD utilities. Coordination with Harris County, City of Houston and TXDOT was required for this project.

Wyman-Gordon Forgings

Wyman-Gordon Forgings Houston,TX RG Miller | DCCM provided civil engineering design services for the Wyman-Gordon Forgings campus in Houston, Texas, which included modifications to the north stormwater pump station and site design for a new, 60,000-square-foot, two-story administration building. This project required the analysis and design of new detention system to mitigate the increased runoff from the development. In addition to the office building, RG Miller | DCCM has been Wyman-Gordon’s go-to civil engineer for on-call engineering services. RG Miller | DCCM has been working now for over 5 years at Wyman-Gordon’s Telge Road Campus. One significant project recently completed was a major electrical distribution line relocation project. RG Miller | DCCM utilized DCCM’s electrical design services to provide the electrical design and construction administration services to convert the existing overhead service to an underground system. Another on-call project that RG Miller | DCCM has completed was major modifications to the north stormwater pumping station. As a result of a land transaction, Wyman-Gordon had to relocate the outfall channel for the north pump station. RG Miller | DCCM provided civil design and construction services to provide a new steel pipe section, baffle wall, and discharge channel within the campus.

Oasis Medical Center

Oasis Medical Center Stafford,TX This 14-acre senior living facility is located within the city limits of both Stafford and Meadows Place. The necessary coordination for governmental approvals from both cities was identified early on by the RG Miller | DCCM staff as a critical component to the development of the project. Civil engineering design included water features (which also provided the required on-site detention), on-site utilities, and the extension of a public sanitary sewer to serve the site. Special attention was given during site design to provide open space without sacrificing a secure environment for patients.

Emerus Emergency Hospital

Emerus Emergency Hospital Tomball,TX This project was part of the Emerus Emergency Hospital System located on 5 acres in Tomball. RG Miller | DCCM’s Site Development group was responsible for the design of a regional detention pond to service the Emerus tract and other surrounding tracts, on-site paving, grading and drainage. The site was designed to compliment landscape requirements and approvals from Harris County and the Municipal Utility District for all infrastructure design.

1960 Family Medical Center

1960 Family Medical Center Houston,TX This project was a new medical office building locate on 9 acres in north Harris County that included coordination with TxDOT for driveway connections to FM 1960. Atascocita Medical Office Building

Atascocita Medical Office Building Atascocita,TX Landev Engineers provided civil engineering services for the 30,000-square-foot, two-story Atascocita Medical Office Building project located in Harris County that was constructed on a 2.0-acre tract. The parcel was a part of a larger developments that included a Lifetime Fitness and other pad tracts for development. The building was designed to allow special medical equipment to be placed within the facility. Since the facility was a medical office building, special attention was given to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements for accessibility ingress and egress.   The design consisted of on-site potable water, fire sprinkler supply line, water meters, and sanitary sewer service; on-site paving, grading, and drainage design; agency and project coordination; stormwater pollution prevention plan; and construction administration. A minor traffic analysis was performed for the existing left-turn lane on West Lake Houston Parkway. The analysis was requested by Harris County for determination of available storage capacity within the left turn bay. The study confirmed the existing left-turn bay had enough capacity for the future trips generate to and from the proposed medical office building. The design was reviewed and permitted through the Harris County and the Municipal Utility District (MUD) providing water and sanitary sewer service.   The tract of land was included in an existing regional detention basin drainage area. The project was grandfathered under an existing stormwater quality feature, and the property was exempt from having an on-site detention basin.
